About:
The Expanded Learning Program is free to all students. CYM began in 1992 as a collaborative effort of 15 local churches to provide positive alternate activities for area youth. These activities started as kids clubs throughout the community and a program to
support teen moms. In 2002, CYM reorganized as a public benefit corporation (501(c)3). In the following years, CYM began to increase the number of programs and expand to multiple cities
within California's San Joaquin Valley, including Reedley, Orange Cove, Dinuba, and Caruthers.
Mission Statement:
Expanded learning program is dedicated to serve any student interested in joining Alta
Elementary Expanded learning hours. ELP currently serves 170 students. We serve students in grades ranging from Kindergarten to 5th grade during the school year. Our mission is to provide enrichment opportunities, recreational time activities and educational learning opportunities. Our goal is to introduce students to field trips, to enhance their critical thinking skills and give students a chance to think about a topic or
theme from a different perspective. Alta ELP is committed to working with students, parents, and its community in providing
a safe and supportive environment for all students. Our overall goal is for students to not only feel welcomed into our classrooms, but also be prepared to become the next generation of future leaders and functional members of society. Bus transportation home is provided Mondays – Fridays at 5:30 PM
