PBIS Recognition and Rewards
The PBIS team at Alta takes pride in recognizing and rewarding students who follow school-wide behavior expectations. All students receive recognition on a daily basis in all areas of the campus. Students following expectations will be rewarded with Eagle Pride cards, weekly raffles, the Eagle Talon Challenge, interactive assemblies and campus activities.
Eagle Pride Cards: Staff members reward students with Eagle Pride Cards when they are observed following expectations. Students can exchange their Eagle Pride Cards for charms and/or prizes each week. Students can also place Eagle Pride Cards in weekly drawings and raffles for gift cards, prizes or a golf cart ride.
Weekly Raffles: Students earning Eagle Pride Cards can choose to exchange them for prizes or enter them in a weekly raffle. Prizes in the raffle include gift cards for Jamba Juice, McDonald's, or Subway and golf cart rides with Mrs. Nishida or Mrs. Cortez around campus during lunch.
Eagle Talon Challenge: All classrooms have the opportunity to earn Talon Challenge tickets for following behavior expectations. Talon Challenge tickets are announced during lunch in the cafeteria and posted on the Talon Challenge board. The first class to win 10 challenge rewards earn a class activity. Activities are selected by the class via google survey.
Reward assemblies and activities: In addition to daily and weekly recognition, monthly PBIS reward activities and/or assemblies are held for students who follow expectations and practice positive citizenship. Assemblies include guests such as: Birds of Prey, Fresno County Sheriff-K9 Demonstration and Anchorman Tony Cabrera from ABC 30. Activities that are fun and engaging such as Krazy Karen from FunWorks, Jim Basketball Jones, and The Magic of Kenny B. also encourage students to follow Alta SOAR expectations.
