Principal's Message

Welcome to Alta School where Eagles SOAR!  Alta has a long standing history of achievement and continues to provide its students with a challenging and rigorous  academic program.   Partnering with parents and community, the students at Alta have proven that being Safe, taking Ownership, having a good Attitude, and being Respectful (SOAR) will lead to productive, successful lives.  Our staff will use a variety of teaching techniques to help each child grow in his/her own unique way and are committed to assisting all children in their academic/social needs and emotional growth.  The 2014-15 school year will bring new excitement to Alta – a new library that was completed in June will support our students as they continue their journey into the Common Core era, a full-time Instructional Coach, and a half-time Social Worker will add additional support for students, staff, and families.

As the new year begins, Alta School is once again proud to partner with Save The Children providing the After School Literacy Block and Sponsorship programs, the Reedley Sunrise Kiwanis Club providing the Terrific Kids program, and the California Department of Education providing ongoing participation in the Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Program.  These are great examples of how valuable   partnerships with community, state, and federal programs continue to provide support for our students.

This is a reminder that regular school attendance is important for the continued growth and success of your child.  If your child is absent, please call or send a note to verify their absence. Our goal for attendance is 97%.  Please help us by sending your child to school daily and on time.

I look forward to another great year with your students and encourage you to participate in any/all activities.  If you are able to volunteer and/or join the Alta Parent-Teacher Club, we would appreciate your time.  Please stop by the office to check-in and we will be happy to direct you to your child’s class.  If you have any questions, please call the office at 305-7210.
